Literal interpretation isn't interesting. That's why we created stylised "material soldiers" for our interpretation of the Iwo Jima imagery for this upscale office park which services the US Marine Headquarters, in Quantico, VA .

Scored aluminum, high gloss aluminum and hand formed copper form the "soldiers', while steel pipes create the flag pole.

For added visual tension, the soldiers never touch the flag pole.
